Position Overview
We are seeking a General Accountant II that can assist with Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accruals, Contract Agreements, Inventory Accounting, Accounts Receivables, Treasury, Accounts Reconciliations and Accounting Close activities. You will have broad exposure to the operations of the Company and will interact with leaders across Finance, Legal, HR, Operations, Sales, and IT as well as our external and internal auditors and advisors. This position will report to Sr. Audit and Accounting Manager in our Austin, Texas Office.
Key Responsibilities/Your Impact
- Work within Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, and Accounting Close activities and other areas as needed.
- Prepare journal entries, key reconciliations as part of monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial results in accordance with US GAAP and global accounting policies.
- Ability to interact with external vendors and customers.
- Facilitate meetings with cross-functional business partners such as CFO, Finance, Logistics, HR and Internal and External Auditors.
- Assist in variance analyses, quarterly reviews, and annual audits.
- Ensure compliance with global accounting policies and processes and internal controls.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automations to reduce time to close and improve accuracy of underlying accounting records.
- Participate in various ad-hoc and special projects to streamline and standardize accounting processes and internal controls across the Company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Professional Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred, or equivalent working experience.
- 1 to 5 years of work experience in accounting.
- CPA candidate or equivalent highly preferred but not required.
- Working proficiency with accounting system (i.e. Quickbooks, ADP Workforce Now, SAP, etc.)
- MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
- Project management and process improvement skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where limited procedures currently exist.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
